Welcome to our blog!
At Michigan State University, the Media Preservation unit collaborates with librarians, archivists, and staff across the MSU Libraries, University Archives, and Vincent Voice Library to preserve a wide variety of audiovisual and born-digital collections; ranging from wax cylinders to floppy disks. We survey and inventory materials, develop media preservation policy to direct our work, and manage digitization efforts. To read more in-depth histories of the formats we care for, you can search our Media Formats tag.
Our other published content on this blog covers a wide range of interest areas related to media preservation—explore all our posts to find more.
Additionally, MSUL Media Preservation proudly participates in the UNESCO World Day for AV Heritage. For more information, click here.
